Dinara Nurmanova, illustrator and hand-letterer from Kazakhstan, did a personal sketchbook project that involves illustrating various types of flowers from observation. What a great (and beautiful) way to sharpen your drawing skills! Because of it’s accessibility, it’s so easy to get caught up in drawing from photographs nowadays – but I’m captivated by the idea of physically going out and picking your own flowers to draw and keeping them side-by-side with the sketch. Her illustration and photography are both on point, making for a beautiful showcase of this personal project.
