I love .Bipolar's line portraits. As rough and crude as these drawings are, there's still something tender and poetic about each one of them. I know I've seen these people, somewhere, walking about, trying to get noticed while being a wallflower at the same time.

Valeria Rey Soto draws patterns, and boy, she does it well. She uses a mix of pen, markers and watercolors to create intricate, colorful, yet still delicate bursts of visual beauty. One after the other, somehow they just make you feel good. She even has an etsy account with a limited number of prints available for sale. Buy one, it'll make your wall happy.

Last night I flew to the west coast and was stuck up in the air for five hours. I killed the time by listening to The National, Band of Horses and a little Mumford and Sons. I didn't have my sketchbook but I did find my travel itinerary to draw on. Here are a few of the doodles I made while waiting to get back on land. Oh, and by the way, warm greetings from a very rainy California.

This is an amazing animation created by Veronika Obertova. In her own words, this is "a story of Viliam, who lives his own animated life within the real world. Childish fun turns into a problem, the problem becomes a solution. No solution is perfect though. "

Wonderfully heartfelt, I personally think we all have a bit of Viliam in us - that slight antisocial charm, that need to always have a pencil in hand, that ability to be content with life the way you see fit...Simply put, you'll love watching this.

Mariana Abasolo is a fellow Brazilian and quite the avid doodler. Two major points for that! The use of black and white versus color in her drawings, combined, are the perfect mix. They are simple and a little wacky, just the way I like 'em. Oh, and she's already a member of DA! Three points! She's on a role today.

Sean Alexander's drawings are a breath of fresh air. I'm not kidding. I literally just took a deep breath while looking at his flickr page. They remind me of the very primitive, very simplistic, very beautiful art you see inside art history books. So much detail and craft is put into each drawing. His tools of the trade? Micron pens, stonehedge paper, prismacolor pencils and number 2 pencils.

I secretly refer to him as "Clemens The Great." It's true. Because his work is truly that good.

I can't remember when I discovered Cle's work. It must have been a year or two ago. But I do remember my reaction when I first saw the chaotic juxtaposition of basic geometric shapes, sharp angles and bold lines. It's the same reaction I get every time, even after frequent visits to his site. My jaw drops to the ground, my eyes get watery from not wanting to look away or blink for an instant.
