Daniel Andersson is a digital artist based out of Stockholm, Sweden, and his art can be summed up in one word – intense. Playing on the uncanny and sometimes downright creepy, Daniel’s work is definitely a step away from the world of pretty pastels and watercolor sunsets, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s always something intriguing about art that teeters on darkness, embodying an energy that runs deeper than its facade and shining a light on a different side of human nature. It’s almost an anomaly, art is something most people turn to hoping to find beauty and moments of peace, but oftentimes people become engrossed in some of the most disturbing artworks created, and it’s probably because we tend to see more of ourselves in the darkness than the light.

Scrolling through Daniel’s Instagram and makeshift online portfolio, it’s hard to not wonder about what ignited his practice. We scrolled back to his first post in 2017, and although for a few years his focus seemed to be on digital collages and altering old pieces of media, there was still an underlying eerieness to everything he created. The less collage-like and more digitally orchestrated artworks that we see now seemed to emerge a few years ago and with them came Daniel’s distinct style, one that we’ve grown very fond of. Riddled with skulls, eyes where they shouldn’t be, and body parts contorting inorganically, it’s definitely not for the easily squeamish or faint of heart, but if you’re curious enough to explore his larger body of work we’re sure you’ll find something that captures your attention.

You can view a large portion of his work and even purchase them here, where there is only one copy of each of his creations for sale. To view his larger body of work and follow his practice, you can find him on Instagram.
