Marc David Spengler is a graphic design student with a knack for creating these amazing sketchbook compositions using posca paint markers. His color palettes and creative use of simple geometric shapes are absolutely on point, but I was really blown away by his method of drawing. If you check out his instagram, you'll quickly realize that Marc doesn't do pencil sketches. His drawings are spontaneous, beginning at the edges of the color blocks in the background, slowly filling in the surrounding areas to form a shape, followed by the defining details. It sort of reminds me of a sculptor chiseling away at his block to ultimately free the artwork within. I love his process videos because he's got a steady hand, a solid vision, and the entire time you're not quite sure what he's going to make of it. Then, just like that, you're hit by a wave of "Ooh!" and "Aah!"
