A Mysterious Sketchbook That Almost Feels Like Time Travel | Doodlers Anonymous

Sishir Bommakanti's overlapping sketches paired with pasted old photographs gives his sketchbook the chaotic feeling of a collage, leaving your eye constantly scanning the pages and discovering new things that you missed at first glance. He uses mixed media to create the contrasting effects of intertwining lines and colors, creating a multidimensional feeling like you're traveling quickly through time as you study what seems to be old family photographs from a box tucked away in the closet. I really enjoy how some of the figures are faint, and loosely drawn while others are more built out with detail and color -- it gives the drawings a certain hierarchy. I'll admit that this sketchbook is very mysterious, yet it's still a visual playground, making it all the more intriguing!
