my “method” for most of my journal pieces have been literally messing up on purpose and fixing it up

it’s because I believe a mistake is the birth of an opportunity ,,, and that’s usually helped me out when I feel like I fucked up majorly lol nobody says you can’t turn it into something beautiful ^^

I read the above on Lexxtronica’s tumblr, and thought that it’s an excellent piece of advice for daily doodlers. Lexie’s art journal holds some incredibly cool 2-page spreads between its pages. It’s fun to see journaling done in a method that is more art than writing. Some sketches still contain some text pertinent to the artist’s feelings at the time—strange phrases like “my nose is plugged” placed next to a rather horrific drawing of a serpent monster suddenly put a humorous spin on grim visuals (especially when you read the artist’s caption below, which reveals that the drawing is about having a bad cold). You have to admit Lexie’s sweet palette of neons and pastels looks so good you could eat them!
