What luck. Here I am digging around our website for someone to feature when I stumble upon the work of Alvaro Diaz-Rubio and quickly discover he’s an incredible artist and illustrator from South Florida that actually studied right down the street from our studio. It’s a nice coincidence when that happens.
Alvaro’s art takes me back to a time of vintage comics and being 13 years old trading gnarly Garbage Pail Kids cards outside the mall’s convenience store. It’s clear he draws all day long and even claims he’ll most likely doodle on the inside of his coffin. His illustrations have appeared in publications like the Village Voice, LA Weekly and the New Times. Help me welcome Alvaro to Doodlers Anonymous and you can always check out more of his work at his website, Operation Underwear.
For something extra special, scroll down for a great time-lapse video of Alvaro drawing a quirky rendition of his lineage.
