Remington Robinson is a painter based in Boulder Colorado who has mastered the art of creating paintings that you can fit in your pocket – literally. That’s right, Robinson’s work is the size of an Altoid mint tin and to make things even more interesting? They’re all hyperrealistic. It seems like the perfect outlet for creation for any artist who derives their inspiration from traveling or being on the go, all you need is your tin, some paint, and a little time and you can create whatever your heart desires without the pain of carrying around all of your tools.

Robinson’s artwork is primarily focused on nature, however, he also creates a ton of other fun paintings that depict landmarks, social settings, and holiday themes. We think it goes without being said that creating a hyperrealistic oil painting the size of a mint can is incredibly impressive, but that combined with his choice of subject matter creates a really intriguing body of work that is sure to draw in almost any viewer. Beyond his miniature artwork, ironically, is his large-scale work. That’s right, Robinson exists on two ends of the art size spectrum, and the other end happens to be murals. If you’re wondering if one of these bodies of work outshines the other, the answer is no. They are both equally as enticing as the other, notable in their own very different ways.
One of the coolest things we came across with Robinson’s work is that you can buy one of the miniature paintings, mint can included! When Robinson creates these paintings, he uses the top half of the can to prop up his canvas and the bottom half to hold his paint. So the coolest part about purchasing the artwork with the can? The leftover paint comes with it! Whether you’re an avid fan of Robinson’s work or someone who just really enjoys art, owning one of these little artworks is sure to put a smile on your face.
