Johan Papin, an illustrator, animator, and director from France, has a sketchbook that set my mind at ease at first glance. I really love how he sticks to a single color and creates different opacities to make it work on multiple levels. According to color pyschology, light blue is commonly linked to creativity and inspires safety and serenity. To say the least, that’s exactly the type of feeling that Johan’s illustrations evoke with his smiling characters and balanced patterns. I can’t wait to see more from his sketchbook!
