I’m hopelessly lost in the hand drawn cities of India Mawbey’s sketchbook, and I really don’t mind it. I’m happy to keep meandering here, exploring the marvelous buildings on each page. Some drawings are only a piece of a building, an interesting slice of the architecture that stands alone and incomplete. In others, the artist has gone wild and built an expansive metropolis on paper. The linework keeps it simple, because Mawbey has the ability to capture the look of structural characteristics without getting stuck in perfecting details. My personal favorite is an illustrated pop up city that folds away into a book!
