Beyond the Classroom Walls

Zak Peric, an instructor at Tower Hamlets College in London, put together an outstanding doodle project with his students. Over the course of three days, 11 students doodled on the wall of their college.

Using only black ink, students drew shapes, characters, objects, and lines all around the encouraging and positive words: "The difference between who you are and who you want to be is what you do!"

Kudos to Zak for making this happen! Long live teachers and instructors that encourage the arts beyond just the walls of their classroom. Watch it all come to life in the time-lapse video below.

This was a great project for my Access students to do. They all enjoyed the process of making this amazing 8.5 x2.5 m doodle. We are in the process of recruiting students for new academic year. Anybody living in London who wants to study (Commercial Graphics and Digital Illustration) please contact (Zak Peric) via Tower Hamlets College.

I very much believe that this kind of teaching and learning should be implemented in all subjects, hands on approaches help the brain form new neuron connections and help growing minds be better able to apply what they are being taught, the current issue with the Educational system is that it is based off of a short term memorization method for tests and exams requiring a regurgitation of knowledge rather than full on application and understanding of the knowledge.
