DIY Screen Printing

The doodle above was inspired by the home made screen printing set-up I built for myself almost three years ago. I photo copied the instructions from a book at the library (I wish I could remember the title) and made it with some found wood, a purchased screen and a few hinges. Pretty easy to set-up and the test prints that followed were even more fun than the finals.

I've always loved the medium and have recently been motivated to pull the dusty old thing out of the closet and get my hands dirty again because of reading Print Liberation: The Screen Printing Primer. It's an excellent read; with history, photos, illustration and step-by-step instructions for both the newbie and the advanced inker. Click here for some photos from my personal ghetto set-up.
