An Uncommon Parisian

Red lips, rouged cheeks, and that certain je ne sais quoi that is oh-so-French, Valerie Galloway's giclee prints capture the glamor and spirit of post-war Paris. Saturated in pattern and charm and the pull of delicate nostalgia, you can almost see the yellowed, worn-edged family photos which inspired her. What an uncommon find I just discovered at UncommonGoods.

Super Nature World

One of the many reasons why I wanted to come to Paris was to meet Kinrisu in person. I found out about her work two years ago when I saw her Myspace. The music was very lovely and she had this nice drawing for her profile picture. Then I found her blog with even more drawings, all of them done with a simple felt pen. So, yesterday we met and she gave me this really nice package with her album on a yellow cassette and a little zine that you can find on Papier Gache website. We planned to do an interview about her work, but the time was short. Well, if you listen to her music and follow her blog you will get a pretty good feeling of her work in general. Enjoy!

8 Days in Paris

Some people take a camera to document their travels. My backpack, however, is filled with everything else but that - a sketchbook, a large pouch filled with micron pens, markers, glue sticks, white out, found pieces of paper, etc. I just came back from a week in Paris, a fantastic week of scootering around, (barely) speaking French, enjoying daily "café crèmes" and "pains au chocolat." Eight days in Paris and this is what I have to show for it.
