The Incredible Analog Drawing Machine

Oh my, I am in love with this project by Tobias Gutmann. It's one of the happiest and most creative things I've ever shared here on DA.

The Face-o-mat is a portable drawing booth that Tobias carried around with him 40,000 kilometers through Europe, Africa and Asia, drawing over 700 faces. The booth itself is incredibly designed and built, from the coin slot and style sliders to the clicking carousel of paper simulating a matrix printer. I want to teleport Tobias and his machine over here and have him draw portraits of everyone I know. So cool, especially his unique style of drawing. Enjoy and be sure to watch the video above.

The Most Versatile Woman To Ever Live

This half-drawn-lady in the hands of David Jablow, led to pages of pages of creativity and insane doodle greatness. On an old novelty pad, David found the above half-drawn prompt with the simple words: Do it yourself. Doodler.

So incredibly uncomplicated, but within that simple constraint David went off and drew some incredible themes of most anything you can imagine, like the inside of a spaceship to the rings of a wrestling match.

It's now a 48-page book. Love it.

Sky is a Bowl

The playful nature in the forms, the way he interpreted movements, expressions and colors grabbed me instantly and set into motion my imagination.

Having become friends with Miguel I can see a lot of his heritage fused into his playful drawings. Each line has a purpose, every character is loose and full of life. It's such a rarity to find artists / illustrators / designers who throw care to the wind and let there hands do the talking and who are excited about sharing / creating.
