Coloring Book, Vol. 2 update

First, we appreciate everyone's patience. The team at Doodlers Anonymous all have full-time jobs (and families) and February proved to be a busy time for us.

That being said, holy crap, the quality and creativity of the submissions we received are beyond anything we expected. We got about 365 drawings and narrowing them down to roughly 50 will be the most fun we've had in a long time. I put together a quick little teaser video (watch above), so you get an idea of some of the amazing submissions.

Next steps: We'll email the artists whose artwork has been selected for volume two by March 31st. If you do not receive an email by that date, then unfortunately we just didn't have enough pages to print yours in this upcoming volume.

I love you all, thanks for making projects like this one come to life with such beautiful art. We are proud to be putting this together. Now go on, press play and enjoy the next 58 seconds.

Open Call / Coloring Book Vol. 2

Oh wow. It's hard to believe it's been over two years since we printed our first coloring book. I still remember the day we set the pages loose and the kids went wild coloring them in (view the colorific photos). The look on the kids' faces were priceless, as they added so much brightness to the bold lines set by folks like Nate Williams, John Malta, Gemma Correll and 26 other artists.

We're thrilled to announce that we are finally ready to print our second volume. This is an open call for submissions, we want everyone to participate. The page count has yet to be determined, but we definitely expect it to include more artists and pages than our previous run (which you can buy here).

If your submission is selected, it will be featured on Doodlers Anonymous and receive credit on its respective page and in the table of contents. You will of course also get a copy of the coloring book mailed to you.

We are setting an aggressive deadline of January 31st. Your art must be one-color (black), sized at 8.5" x 11" and submitted to [email protected] as a hi-res JPG (300dpi). Now go draw.

And The Winners Are...

We are delighted with the responses to the scribble train giveaway question (who you would most like to sit next to on a train?). They are so good. If you haven't yet, go read them.

Of the 54 names, we randomly pulled two. Congratulations to Cheryl Smith and Julia Smelansky, both of whom are doodle addicts themselves (credit the above images to them). Your books are on the way. To everyone else, cross your fingers there's another print run.

GIVEAWAY: The BIG Team Colouring Book!

Remember when I invited you all to jump aboard my scribble train for a BIG doodling collaboration? Well, toot toot... our colouring book has arrived!

It's a whooping 76 pages long and brimming with the wildest, loveliest, strangest passengers you could ever imagine sitting next to on a train. If you missed out on submitting a doodle, no big deal. You can still collaborate with us by splashing the scribble train with a custom paint job!

The first print run has sold out... but of course, I put two books aside for our DA readers! Would you like to nab yourself one? Read on for GIVEAWAY details

Colorific

We have always wanted to create a coloring book that is one-of-a-kind. We did it and showcased it for the first time in Miami's first annual Family Day in the Design District.

December 12 fell on a Saturday. The Miami sky was filled with grey clouds and it was exceptionally windy. As we set up our tables, chalkboard and blown-up illustrations - papers flew, chalkboards fell over and the rain began to fall. All signs pointed to a frantic kind of day.

But moms, dads and their mini mes showed and as the sun peaked through the clouds, the crowd grew.

It was four hours of kids drawing and scribbling everywhere. There were many moments where I stood back and stared with amazement at the eager kids and colors scattered all over the floor.

Here are some pictures of the event. We look forward to a DA Coloring Book, Volume 2.

DA Coloring Book, Vol. 1

This is it, it's real. In three weeks time we put together a coloring book like you've never seen before. It features the drawings of 29 artists from around the globe.

I am so proud of this project and want to thank everyone who submitted a drawing. Now you can get your hands on it and fill it in with every ounce of ink you have lying around.

See the inside and all participating artists by clicking here or buy a copy today (while supplies last).
