Colorific

We have always wanted to create a coloring book that is one-of-a-kind. We did it and showcased it for the first time in Miami's first annual Family Day in the Design District.

December 12 fell on a Saturday. The Miami sky was filled with grey clouds and it was exceptionally windy. As we set up our tables, chalkboard and blown-up illustrations - papers flew, chalkboards fell over and the rain began to fall. All signs pointed to a frantic kind of day.

But moms, dads and their mini mes showed and as the sun peaked through the clouds, the crowd grew.

It was four hours of kids drawing and scribbling everywhere. There were many moments where I stood back and stared with amazement at the eager kids and colors scattered all over the floor.

Here are some pictures of the event. We look forward to a DA Coloring Book, Volume 2.

DA Coloring Book, Vol. 1

This is it, it's real. In three weeks time we put together a coloring book like you've never seen before. It features the drawings of 29 artists from around the globe.

I am so proud of this project and want to thank everyone who submitted a drawing. Now you can get your hands on it and fill it in with every ounce of ink you have lying around.

See the inside and all participating artists by clicking here or buy a copy today (while supplies last) with a portion of the proceeds going to the International Child Art Foundation.

Open Call / DA Coloring Book

Some exciting news! Doodlers Anonymous is printing a kids coloring book and this is our open call for submissions. Deadline is December 4th, 2009 December 2nd, 2009 and anyone can participate.

Maybe it's not so much a book as it is an over-sized zine. The page count has yet to be determined, but we want all of you to participate. The deadline is right around the corner, so go on and get started. Keep the art kid friendly, sized at 8.5x11 inches and one-color (black). Accepted submissions will be featured on DA and receive credit on their respective pages and in the table of contents.
