The Doodle Addict T-Shirt

A few weeks back we thought it would be fun to get our featured artists to doodle on something other than paper. We sent them a t-shirt with the above confession and asked for them to do what they do best.

Now, it's your turn. We have a limited supply of shirts left from that first run: printed on white, comfy, American Apparel t-shirts, and (while inventory lasts) have them available in unisex sizes of x-small, small, medium, large, and x-large.

Buy one today (we are selling them for $18) -- and doodle, paint and mark the heck out of it, then send us back a photo of the results and we'll post it on the (soon to be launched) gallery, with a caption and link to your website. And yes, we do ship international.

Pens, Markers, and Gouache

Picture this: 445 illustrations in a broad spectrum of styles and techniques by 80 different drawing enthusiasts. I've owned this book for about three years and every time I'm feeling hungry for some inspiration, for something truly satisfying, my hands go straight for this book. The Picture Book has become my bible, of sorts, and deserves to be sitting on everyone's bookshelf.

Above is titled Yeti vs. Big Foot by Genevieve Gauckler.

You Should Doodle Today

Back in February we reported about the UK's National Doodle Day in support of raising funds for Neurofibromatosis. Well, today it's on in the USA. From May 7 to the 17th celebrity doodles will be available for auction on eBay.

Signed, Numbered and Doodled

I bought my copy of "From The Ground Up," a brand new zine from Portland based artist Ryan Bubnis. There are a couple of copies left and for $6 worth of pocket change, you get a limited edition copy of 100 that features paintings, drawings and doodles about life, death, art, positivity and rebirth. Ryan suggests you get one before they're gone because seriously, they're almost gone.

Drawn by Michel

Part of me didn't want to spread the word on this, but really, that's just selfish. The great Michel Gondry has a new website and is offering to personally draw and sign any portrait that you send to him via email. It's totally affordable and worth every penny (and more).

Drawing the ABC's

With its crooked lines and all of its fun imperfections, hand drawn type is always the way to go in my book. The above alphabet print is done by Jessica Gonacha and is for sale here.

Black and White

Lucas Soi has a book filled with his black pen and ink drawings that takes an imaginative look into the male mind. That means it's not for children. It even comes with a 15" x 20" poster that he calls "I Built My Home for Making Adult Videos." So much insight for only $17? Go go, go buy it.
