DA Coloring Book, Vol. 1

This is it, it's real. In three weeks time we put together a coloring book like you've never seen before. It features the drawings of 29 artists from around the globe.

I am so proud of this project and want to thank everyone who submitted a drawing. Now you can get your hands on it and fill it in with every ounce of ink you have lying around.

See the inside and all participating artists by clicking here or buy a copy today (while supplies last) with a portion of the proceeds going to the International Child Art Foundation.

Hallowzine

Hallowzine is, you guessed it, a Halloween-themed zine. Clever, right? This is a collaborative project between myself and the typemaster-flex Chris Piascik. Hallowzine is jam-packed with original/never-before-seen drawings, some by Chris, some by me and a bunch that we worked on together.

Each zine features a screen-printed cover and was constructed by our hands! It's only $8!

Hallowzine was printed in an edition of 50 and you can purchase yours from Will (Supermarket) or from Chris.

500 Colored Pencils: 01/20

A few weeks back I was fortunate enough to be included in the initial mailing of the most beautiful and inspiring collection of colored pencils I have ever seen.

500 Pencils is a product by Felissimo, the folks behind DESIGN 21 and Social Designer, and it is the only set in the world that attempts to match the span and wonder of human creativity, with each pencil having its unique hue and name.

It gets better. Now you can subscribe and order the collection for yourself (or as a gift to someone else) and the best part is, they get delivered over the course of 20 months. Each month a set of 25 pencils will arrive at your door (packaged in similar tones and hues). Above is a photo of the first series I received in the mail and so far my favorite colors include Plum Crazy and Little Red Wagon. Now go get your hands on these »

Leather-bound or Loose Scrawls

Sketchbooks allow for freedom - for the maker to daydream, vent, and explore in private. Some keep it simple. Some fill every page with scribbles, scraps of paper or tape. Either way, they allow us to get a glimpse of what makes that person tick; which is why Richard Brereton created the book Sketchbooks: The Hidden Art of Designers, Illustrators and Creatives. In it, the individual artists explain how they use their sketchbooks to create their finished works. These types of books never get old and are always insightful.

The Underground Art School

Being creative almost always means being passionate. And sometimes we get really lucky, and that passionate creative is completely driven and always without sleep. That of course means we get something incredible to enjoy.

Get your hands on the Underground Art School Magazine by Racheal Anilyse. It features an interview with me, but that is the most boring part. 36 pages of awesome content from artists like Su Blackwell, Heidi Burton, Kyle Coughlin and Yoda Navarrete. There's also some amazing insight, my favorite being the "process profile" by artist Anna Denise. She basically lets us peak into an illustrated diary of hers for the month of February.

So go spend $10 on something to hold in your hand that's not a computer mouse or at the very least draw on something that could also keep you warm.

Calculated

Louis Doulas. His drawings are somewhat geometric, his lines are so clean and crisp. The best part? You can purchase limited edition, signed and numbered pieces in his store for $5. Affordable art is my favorite kind of thing.
